The CU 1D-MAX-DOAS instrument was deployed at the Salt Lake City Utah Department of Air Quality Inland Port Site to measure halogens generated by the production of magnesium at the largest magnesium plant in the United States. Halogen-induced ozone depletion, and its effect on particulate matter, can create a large negative impact on urban air quality.
